my partner and I came just for the sushi and I was really impressed! the chefs always greet you with such intensity but it's charming. our waitress was really attentive and patient as we perused over the various rolls.

we tried five different rolls and all were a hit with one exception. the crunchy roll (not pictured on the menu) was just okay. there was a plainness to it that was lackluster but fortunately, the rest were great!
the smoked salmon two piece was really good and tasted pretty fresh. that salmon was my favorite of the night and i can't recommend it enough. both the sunset and dui were packed with flavor and not too heavy.

this place is legit. i was a fool in my last review. if you're reading this wondering if you should go, definitely go. and while you're at it step out of your comfort zone and try a weird fish! it's gonna be worth it.

The sushi and main courses here are amazing. As someone who is new to sushi this place definitely comes through with its many sushi and sashimi options, I couldn't pick just one!

-On that note, there is a a thing they'll have sometimes called a "waitlist" because it's such a small restaurant it'll fill up fast and you'll probably end up waiting up to 20 minutes for a table, which is annoying if you're really hungry...

But man is this place worth the wait!

    3 1/2 stars.
Came here after watching a movie at the movie theater across the street. Its across the street from a free parking garage and there is plenty of parking all around.
We were seated immediately and given about 5 min before our order was taken.
My husband was craving sushi and fish, I was not in the mood for it.
He ordered a salmon and albacore sashimi. He really liked it. It came with an ok salad.
I ordered edamame to start and Korean bbq as my plate. I did not enjoy the meat at all. It was tough and not flavorful. I would not recommend it.
We both started with the miso soup, which was good.
I know I should know better than to order non sushi at a sushi place but they should have good options for non sushi eaters that are accompanying sushi lovers... just saying...

Sooo I know I said I wouldn't be back. Buuut We were leaving the movie theater across the street & decided it had been a while...let's drop by Ichiban. Haha, famous last words, right?

We ordered 2 beers, sake, 2 rolls and some nigiri. Everything was good until a COCKROACH came out of the sushi bar directly in front of my food. I reacted like a total girl, squealed & pushed myself away from the bar. A server popped up and squished it with her table rag, like the damn roach owned her money.

The staff wasn't overly reactive. The sushi chef cared the most and seemed embarrassed. He gave us a partial discount on our meal. I think it was around $20 off. I honestly don't appreciate having to pay for food that shares the same space as cockroaches...I think they really could have handled that better but it is what it is.

For sure, 100% we won't be dining again at Ichiban.
